Our Maine Coon Kittens

We have two kittens, Kodiak (male) and Storm (female). Years ago, after a lot of research, we decided when we ever got a new cat, it would be a Maine Coon.

Maine coons are the largest breed of domestic cat, and are known for a gentle, often goofy personality. In these pictures, Kodiak is 6 months old and Storm is 7 months old.

Maine coons are slow growing cats - they don't reach their full size until they're nearly 5 years old. Male cats are about 20% larger than female Maine coons.

The cats have very distinct personalities. Storm is more of a lap cat, and she loves to help out. She tries to help out with whatever we're doing, including putting away groceries, filing, using the computer, etc. She has a very sweet playful personality.

Kodiak is a real teddy bear, and has adopted Tim completely. He tries to get between Tim and anything he's trying to do (read, write, watch TV). He's already very long - as you can see in the pictures. No Photoshop enhancement, he's just a realllly long kitten! Both cats are fascinated by water, and want to join in whatever you're doing. They'll wait outside any closed door until you open it again.
You can view pictures of Kodiak when he was 4 months old here.
