I'm Laurie McCanna, a graphic designer with more than 10 years of designing interface artwork for software programs. This is my portfolio of interface design work. Please click on any of the buttons on the left to view samples of my work and find out more about me.
I specialize in creating artwork that conveys complex software concepts to end users in the simplest and most direct manner, while still working within the constraints of the engineering and management requirements.
I've been working fulltime with BEA Systems since 2001 designing prototypes, templates, styleguides and workflows for extremely technical products, including WebLogic Server and WebLogic Integration. I've created interaction designs, HTML,graphics, and CSS templates for web based applications, and look and feel and interaction patterns for IDE products as well. I've created interfaces for Eclipse, Swing, as well as many web based programs where the HTML, css and graphics I've created are used by engineers to create the application windows in JSP or portalized applications. I hand code all my HTML and CSS, so that it is neat and easy to parse. I'm a Photoshop whiz, as well, having written a top-ten bestselling book on web graphics.
I'm located close to San Francisco and Silicon Valley. To find out about my availability or more information, please contact me.
