The Sketchbook

These are some sketches I've scanned in from my last year of art school. All of the sketches were done with Prismacolor pencils.

I'm not including these drawings because I think they're wonderful, but because I think one of the most important things about creating artwork is just to keep going. Keep creating.

I had one instructor in art school who said that he still never knew if the drawing he was doing was great or awful until he was done. You just hoped that over the years, the ratio of good drawing to throw-away drawings got better. After 25 years of drawing professionally, he figured that his ratio was two awful drawings for every ten.

I think I'm at about 6 good drawings for every 4 that end up in the recycle bin.
